Madden's partner in offense is Chamberlin, whose skills inMadden 22 coinsthe perimeter blends seamlessly with Madden's interior presence. While Chamberlin has struggled shooting the ball this year, she averaged 15.9 scoring per match in the last season, shooting 45% of her total shots, and she threw 72 triples at 41.
Her passing may be her best contribution, however given that what Blue River boasts in shooting it is lacking in guard playmaking. Chamberlin's 3.2 assists per game average last year has grown to 4.3 per game this season. The focus she gets on defense helps Madden as well as the rest of the team's shooters perform well.
"We've definitely grown closer than when she first came. She was shy at first but now I and her joke around. We know each other when we play," Madden said. "My sophomore year, we did not really have a (knockdown) shooter, so the way they stopped us was protect me in the post. This is how we lost in semi-state. The fact that we have Maci around helps a lot."
"It gives us an inside-out punch" Bales said. "Her speed is phenomenal ... she's able to see the floor extremely well, and is very selfless."
The halfcourt offense runs through Madden. Bales will aim to make sure she gets the ball in the low area so she can either score or kick out to shooters when the defense has collapsed. Madden is making a lot of quick swing passes as a result which has resulted in a record-setting 2.5 assists for each game up to this point.
"I love (the extra responsibility)," Madden said. "I am aware that I may not be successful in getting the team moving so I'm thinking that whenever we can start the ball moving quickly, and me being present, it will assist us incheap Mut 22 coinsgaining more motivation."
