Getting to China Cheaply

Welcome to the twenty-first century, dear reader! You can, in fact, work from just about any corner of the world. Here’s how:

Booking a great adventure to an exotic Oriental land has never been easier. With China on the verge of becoming the next economic super-power and a world-leader in the technology industry it was inevitable that the country would also see a boom in the tourism trade. And now that laws and restrictions concerning western visitors have relaxed, the time for your holiday to China is now.

With a land mass greater than any other nation on the planet it is easy to get to China from any spot in the globe. Whether you are flying from Europe, the Americas, or Australia, you can be sure to find a daily flight which routes through any of the large cities in the Republic of China. And with so many daily flights into the country you can be sure to find great deals. In fact, during the off season, many of the major carriers into Hong Kong and Beijing offer steep discounts on airfare.

Once youve arrived in the Republic of China, youll find that traveling around the country is easy and cheap too. Taxis in the city are competitively priced, car rental is cheap at the airports, and trains and buses can take you anywhere in the country for pennies a mile.

Working Holiday

A reader recently wrote me with the following question:

Hey dude! I have a job that allows me to work remotely. For most of the year I never have to set foot inside the office. I've decided that I would like to use this setup to travel around the world and work at the same time. My question is: is this feasible? Will I be able to get internet in most places? Have you ever tried this?

Welcome to the twenty-first century, dear reader! You can, in fact, work from just about any corner of the world. Here's how:

You don't have to be a rich man to teleconference. After all, it doesn't really matter what your budget is: hostels, motels, and hotels in all but the poorest and most terrifying countries now have wifi and many offer this as a free service for guests. Also, whether you like it or not, any spot on the planet is, at most, only one block from a Starbucks or McDonalds both of which have wifi for very reasonable prices.

But you need to ask yourself Am I really going to do any work while I'm in a foreign land? Probably not. If you can handle mixing business with pleasure, go for it. But beware that life is too short to ruin your holiday with power point presentations and video conferencing. Sounds good? Do you want to buy 2023 Australian calendars? Order diary planners here.
