The Seahawks and 49ers played past midnight on the East Coast on Monday night, needing until the final second of overtime to decide a winner. Seattle kicker Jason Myers put a 42-yarder through the uprights to take a 27-24 win, dishing the 49ers their first lo s of the season and tightening the NFC West race.
San Francisco was in position to win the game on the prior drive, but rookie kicker Chase McLaughlin filling in for an injured Robbie Gould badly shanked a 47-yard field goal attempt.

That was one of many wacky plays Monday. There were two scoop-and-scores (one by each team) and two turnovers inside the red zone (both by Seattle).
San Francisco raced to Blank Jersey a 10-0 lead, but the Seahawks scored 21 points in a row to take a 21-10 lead to the fourth quarter. After the 49ers evened the game again, the teams traded field goals on their Ozzie Albies Jersey final drives to head to overtime.
There were five po se sions in the extra period. Seattle was at the 14-yard line on the first drive, but Wilson threw his second interception of the season. A mi sed field goal and two punts later, the Seahawks got another chance, and they delivered.
