A Sustainable Winter Barn Wedding

Given recent global events, penning this wedding feels especially poignant.

Its date, mid-February 2020, means it has to have been between the last weddings before we went into lockdown. It's a genuine pleasure to talk about this sustainable day along with you all today.

In her kimono-style gown from Jesmond, Courtney looks relaxed, elegant, and complicated. I love its unusual, wide-sleeved, dropped waist design, using its nods to classic 1920s design.

"I wanted something which wasn't outrageous but helped me feel elegant, beautiful, and myself. I also wanted something I hadn't seen on other brides before, which made the Nyika dress perfect."

"I loved how elegant I felt, and also the pop of burgundy helped pull it together, for me. I would not have access to felt comfortable all in white."

Courtney's bridesmaids wore burgundy bridesmaid dresseshaving a splash of 20s-style embellishment, purchased from FeelTimes.

The color is an excellent match for that burgundy from the bride's headpiece and shoes, plus they wore sparkling headpieces.Go

Isaac and Courtney knew one another in their childhood but lost contact until 2014.

"My mum was Isaac's nanny from being a toddler until he was four years old. In 1994, Isaac's family went to live in Northumberland from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne."

"This coincided well with my mum's plans, as with February 1994 she welcomed me into the world. Isaac and the family met me when I was five days old on the day I got home from the hospital."

"Our families stayed in touch for any number of years however lost contact. In 2014, my mum reached out to Isaac on Facebook and our families met up in a local pub with Isaac's family in Corbridge."

"Isaac maintains it was love in the beginning sight for him but I was inside a relationship at that time. Later within the year, that relationship ended, and we began the connection that was meant to become."

"In August 2018, Isaac required a large private house, Wood Hall, within the Lake District. Here, he blindfolded me and walked me to some magnificent view of the valley. He uncovered my eyes and also got down on one knee behind me."

"The view am great he'd to tug on my small jumper to obtain my attention. I turned around to determine him and twenty of our family and friends cheering and crying behind him. Everyone then spent the weekend in the hall celebrating. We were engaged for 17 months before our big day."

"My favorite part was seeing Isaac in the bottom from the aisle. I hadn't been nervous before the car journey there and I desired to bolt. But, the moment I was walking on the aisle, all that feeling was gone."

The civil ceremony included a reading of Taylor Mali's 'How Falling In Love Is Like Owning A Dog', read by her younger cousins.

The couple also decided to have a videographer, to capture each moment of joy.

"Our wedding video is completely gorgeous and we will be watching it again and again for a long time. I would recommend him to anyone looking for any beautifully captured video of their big day."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Try not to obtain hung up around the people that can't be there. You are surrounded by people who love you and wish to be there and also you won't reach spend just as much time as you think you'll with them anyway. Your interactions together with your guests on that day are going to be special, regardless."
