Canada Express Entry Requirements and Processing Time 2022

Canada Express Entry

Express Entry is a digital system that manages the applications of skilled professionals who want to become permanent residents of Canada. In 2015, Canada launched Express Entry to speed the processing of skilled worker applicants and provide a positive opportunity for immigration seekers.

After an interested applicant provides an online profile, the federal government assesses if the candidate is eligible for an Express Entry program. Candidates that are eligible are allowed into the Express Entry pool and are rated using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS is a point-based system used by the government to evaluate and rank Express Entry candidates. The CRS score is determined by a candidate's age, education, job experience, language abilities, and other variables.

Express Entry is a two-stage process that is relatively straightforward. Candidates who are qualified for Communicate Entry express their interest in acquiring Canadian permanent resident status to the Canadian government in the first major stage. The Canadian government invites the top individuals to come to Canada in the second major step.

Requirements of Express Entry Canada

Canada is on track to admit 55,900 immigrants through Express Entry in 2022, and by 2024, the target will rise to 1,11,500.

An applicant was requested to apply if they received a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 542. Candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) might potentially get an invitation because there was no specific program designated for this draw.

When performing an all-program Express Entry draw, the IRCC considers a candidate's CRS regardless of the programme they are eligible for. Prior to the epidemic, the majority of Express Entry drawings were not program-specific, giving candidates who were qualified for any Express Entry programme and met the CRS minimum a chance to be selected

Canada Express Entry Processing Time

While some candidates are accepted quickly after entering the Express Entry pool, others may not receive an ITA for months or even years, depending on their CRS score and Express Entry cut-off criteria. Some invited candidates may be ready to apply for immigration to Canada within 60 days after their invitation, while others may need more time. While IRCC works to process applications in six months, certain applications may take longer, while other applications may take less time.
